Washington, D.C., Nov 6 -  Upon passage of the Stupak amendment to the Democrats’ health care bill, U.S. Rep. Dave Camp, R-MI, released the following statement:

“I supported the Stupak Amendment as a person who believes in the Right to Life, but also because I believe taxpayers who oppose abortions on morally or religious grounds should not be forced to fund such activity,” Camp said. “The passage of this amendment, however, will not change my opposition to this bill, which is a government takeover of health care.”
