U.S. Rep. Dave Camp (R-Midland) today issued the following statement in reaction to the Budget Resolution introduced by Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI).

“As I have said time and again, the federal government as it exists today has a spending problem, not a revenue problem.  However, the Path to Prosperity,’ the budget solution unveiled by Chairman Ryan this morning, is a proposed budget which provides an honest reality to the American people about what is wrong with Washington and how we can fix it. This budget resolution reins in spending and balances the budget without raising taxes. Moreover, it focuses on what matters most to families – jobs. Our current tax structure hinders, instead of helping job creators across Michigan and America.  Simply put, the tax code is too costly, too complex and too burdensome for our friends, families, and employers.  Together, we must focus on getting Washington out of the way so employers can do what they do best – innovate and create jobs – and that starts with comprehensive tax reform.”
