Camp Supports House, Senate Farm Bill Conference Report
Washington, DC - Today, Congressman Dave Camp (R-MI) released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed H.R. 2642, the Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management Act of 2013 (FARRM Bill). Camp served on the FARRM Bill Conference Committee that negotiated the final compromise between the House and Senate versions of the legislation.
“This five year agreement will maintain a strong safety-net for Michigan farm families and give them the needed stability and security for the long-term planning necessary for a safe, stable food supply. It will also save taxpayers $23 billion by cutting wasteful spending, instituting necessary reforms, and increasing accountability within federal programs. I hope the Senate will act soon to pass this legislation that will benefit both America’s farm families and the American public.”
